Why would the seller ask me to do this on paypal?
I was going to buy something from a provate seller, but before I send the money he requested that I uncheck the “security and protection” box so that he can recieve the money instantly and not have the banks hold it for 5 days. He says he wants me to do this because he said he isnt going to start getting the product together and packaging it for shipping until he recives payment. Will I still be protected and able to file a dispute if the sender doesnt send me anything? Or doesnt send me the items as described? Is he being legit and honest or just being sketchy?

SCAM
You send the money.....and he sends......nothing and you just waived your right to dispute it.
Scam and I would report him to paypal
I immediately terminate any transactions (eBay, CL) that aren't straightforward. The protection is there for a reason. It's a scam.
That's sketchy. Tell him you'll wait for shipment.
No, you give up all your rights to any protection Paypal offers.
Don't uncheck it. Just tell him you don't need it super fast, the regular routes will work fine.
By unchecking you lose your protection.
Report them to eBay and don't fall for this BS. On your purchased item, click onto I Would Like to ....... find similar and start again
If you have to ask, you deserve to get scammed.
