As the mercury in the arm connected to the cylinder of carbon dioxide is higher, the pressure of carbon dioxide is lower than atmospheric pressure.

Pressure of the gas cylinder
= (747 torr) - (126 mmHg) × (1 torr/mmHg)
= (747 torr) - (126 torr)
= 621 torr
