treacle=thick, sticky, dark liquid produced while sugar is being refined (USA=molasses)
molasses=thick dark syrup drained from raw sugar during the refining process.
syrup=thick sweet liquid made from sugar-cane or by boiling sugar with water;
eg:-pineapple tinned in syrup;
eg:-cough syrup with medicine in it to relieve a cough;
eg:-fruit syrup is flavoured with fruit juices.
