Prayer is talking to God. You can use formalized prayer or use free-style, in your own words. It's important to have that connection.

Prayer is a conversation with God. And like every conversation, it is made up of speaking to God, and taking the time to listen. James 4:1-4 provides a caution for us, but it is vital to know what God expects and desires of us.

Prayer is a time to give to others who are in need.

Prayers include, declarations and decrees, pray without ceasing, a time to give praise and thanksgiving, and conversation prayers.

Prayer is important bc we spend time with God, plant a seed in those we pray for, and increase our knowledge of Scripture.

Prayer means asking God to help YOU accept whatever God gives you.
It is not about asking for things you want, not even for others. It is about learning to accept to His will.
Why is it important? You cannot be happy if you chase after things.

SPEAKING WITH GOD WHEN ALONE OR IN CHURCH IN UNITED PRAYER. We connect with God by doing this.

When we pray, we usually pray in privacy unless we pray for, or with others. But born-again Christians are always 'chatting' with God -- Yes, it's communication whether it's serious, casual (chatting) or spiritual.

For those who have not yet participated in the spiritual prayer, God listens to anyone who speaks honestly and openly to Him from the heart. They must learn to pray the Lord's will (His Word, His Promises)---Then they will come to these passages, and obey them: [Mark 16:16]; and [Acts 2:38]; [Luke 11:13].

So, to prevent our 'faith' from going up and down like a thermostat, we are requested to build it up---we can increase it by ourselves to some extent. [Jude 1:20] But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit -- It provides much confidence and boldness"

Praying in the Spirit is the means by which our *redeemed human spirit communicates directly with God’s Spirit. It is intended to be used for more than just communicating with God in prayer, it is also designed to be a power producer to enhance the operation of ALL the other gifts and graces of God.

Praying in the Spirit is also part of the Armor [Ephesians 6:10-18] - Our battle is spiritual, therefore our weapons ought to be spiritual.

It goes without saying that a 'prayerless' Christian becomes a 'powerless' one.

Centuries before telephones, the internet and wi-fi were invented, that was God's way of us humans getting into instant touch with Him. That still remains His way!

Although it is usually a one-way communication, with humans expressing their thoughts, desires and problems to God, it is also a communal communication when congregations of believers unite in corporate prayer to worship God with praise, and to intercede for others. We can also learn to wait on God prayerfully, wanting to hear from Him. I don't mean hearing voices in our head. I mean the prompting of the Holy Spirit in answer to prayer. Most believers are quite good at praying but not so hot learning how to 'listen' for what God would say to them!

Praying to God means talking to Him. And various forms of it differs from one religion to another. Hindus go to their temples for praying, Christians go to their churches & Muslims to their mosques and etc but does that mean you can't pray at home or is it only necessary to visit Temples, Churches or Mosques in order to pray to your Lord? Of course not, you can connect to your Lord anywhere and everywhere, you just need to call onto Him from the bottom of your heart and even before that there has to be this believe that God do exist because if you aren't even sure about His existence how are you going to pray to Him? So it's important to believe that He alone is responsible for the existence of all the creatures of the universe and to believe that He listens to every single whisper, every single beseeching done in front of Him. And about the importance of prayer, it helps you maintain a proper balance in your life, as it is when you are closer to the Supreme power, to your creator who created you, to your Lord you experience spiritual inner peace which is really very much important for your soul. Praying comforts your soul, soothes your inner self. When life is totally unfair to you it's Him who helps you out where there seems no way out.

Prayer any time of the day is extremely important and a God given opportunity to always thank our Heavenly Father for His mercy and goodness, through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour..

“You are not abandoned. Your spirit guides are always there helping you. They suggest the answers to you in a subtle way, when you have questions that you sincerely don’t know how to resolve. The trouble is that most of you have many fears and taboos inside you that it becomes very complicated for your guides to help you, because you don´t accept answers that don’t fit in with your prejudices and archetypes. If you ask for answers sincerely, from your heart and with the intention of achieving spiritual improvement, have no doubt that you will receive an answer. THIS IS THE AUTHENTIC WAY OF PRAYING, as opposed to repeating lots of phrases over and over again praising god, which mean nothing to you or to the spiritual world.”

Prayer is but an exercise in futility.
It is exactly as effective as random chance.

Prayer is a logical impossibility.

God is omnipotent and is therefore never wrong.

If you pray for something like little Johnny recovers from cancer, here are your possible outcomes:

1. Johny dies, your prayer wasn't answered.

2. Johnny lives. As god is never wrong, god already decided Johnny would live and therefore all you did was guessed right about gods decision. Your prayer was pointless.

3. Johnny lives. God answered your prayer and changed it's decision. If god changed it's decision it was initially wrong therefore your god made a mistake and couldn't be omnipotent. Therefore your god doesn't exist. Your prayer was pointless, you prayed to nothing and Johnny got better because of his treatment.

For a laugh, consider the Lords prayer: Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil". Gods already decided if it will lead you into temptation or if it will subject you to evil if it's omnipotent so why include it in a prayer? Your god is taking you for a fool.

"Morality is doing what is right no matter what you are told.
Religion is doing what you are told no matter what is right."
