What moves many people to consider the existence of a Creator?

Well many people who thought there was no creator, came to believe that there was one. Notice this scripture, “Of course, every house is constructed by someone, but the one who constructed all things is God.” (Hebrews 3:4). That may seem very hard for some to understand, but that gives sound evidence in the belief that there is a creator. How can we look at all the flying creatures and say there’s no god? The very idea of gods or some creator is a product of the human imagination, It is quite understandable why primitive people, who were so much more exposed to the overpowering forces of nature than we are today, should have personified these forces in fear and trembling. But nowadays, when we understand so many natural processes, we have no need for such solutions but parts of our human brains are built around fear, researchers said subjects who perceive a supernatural agent at work in their daily lives tend to use brain pathways associated with the regulation of fear when asked to contemplate their religious beliefs.

Common sense and intuition are two prominent factors.

Revelation 4:11
“You are worthy, Jehovah our God, to receive the glory and the honor and the power, because you created all things, and because of your will they came into existence and were created.”

The existence of a creator makes sense to them.

Where did the raw material for the creation of the universe come from? How about "infinity"? How can anything in the natural world be "infinite"? If that's a misnomer and "infinity" is actually finite, what's on the other side?

Personal experiences have a role too.

One way is by observing the things he has created and thinking deeply about what they tell us.
God's creation show us that he has great power and wisdom.
We see his love in all that he has made . Read Psalm 19:1-6, and Romans 1:20.

Life cannot evolve from non life.

The human tendency to anthropomorphize everything.

anthropomorphize : to attribute human form or personality to; to attribute human form or personality to things not human

Personification is the related attribution of human form and characteristics to abstract concepts such as nations, emotions, and natural forces, such as seasons and weather.

Both have ancient roots as storytelling and artistic devices, and most cultures have traditional fables with anthropomorphized animals as characters. People have also routinely attributed human emotions and behavioural traits to wild as well as domesticated animals.[3]

A false sense of safety and security.

If you don't know how something happened, the default answer is "some guy did it".

Superstitious belief is caused by an insufficient understanding of human history and how cause and effect relationships account for reality which causes the mind to continually collapse onto unanswered curiosity and forces it to create supernatural explanations that easily accounts for otherwise, complex scientific phenomena.

If you look at all of the reasons why people believe in gods, demigods and devils, you will note that they are all arguments from ignorance:

If god doesn't exist, then where did we.....
If god doesn't exist, then who created....
If god doesn't exist, then what makes...

The superstitious beliefs that were indoctrinated into us at an early age are gradually discarded when the individual develops the ability to discern fact from fiction, myth from reality, and is usually acquired by people who have completed rigorous studies in philosophy, theology, history or the medical and natural sciences.

The Wisdom of Buddha

Usually indoctrination or suffering. For others its inexplicable, God reaches out to them and they respond. Sometimes high intelligence or just general introspection inexplicably leads to deep thinking too.

I think it could be because they see that everything surrounding them is created.
Or social and cultural influences.

Many people are raised in a family which is religiously based. Thus, for those people, the myth is perpetuated from generation to generation because kids trust their parents to not lie to them.

Way back in time, people started to think logically but were in a material world where quantum probability effects were not visible (being sub-microscopic in nature). They were a cause-and-effect society and had to assume that natural events had causes. Due to their lack of understanding of weather patterns, biology and genetics, physics, and other technical subjects, they thought that some powerful entity was running the show.

Then, there is that message spewed by some folks regarding an afterlife, which causes people to DESPERATELY want it to be true because they fear death.

I believe a creator exists, because his word the Bible, tells me how I got here, why I got here, what I should do while I am here, and what awaits me. Science fills in the details, but doesn't give any explanation.

The Spirit of God woos us and awakens us.... from the beginning!

The fact that all that we see around us, including ourselves, could not have happened all by itself. There has to be a Creator.

I have studied evolution for years but one point always made me wonder. It started with the "big bang theory" but now they are trying to not go back that far. Today they just want to say that by accident a chemical mixed with this chemical which than mixed with that chemical and they become life. If every step did not happen then life would not come to be. How do we know this is the way, we used our brains to reason it out and use the science we developed to prove it.
I don't believe that so many random accidents could happen! I also don't believe I am an accident, so what is left the Creator, God.

I grew up in a Hindu family. I hated the fact that I had to bow down to a man made idol. It dint make sense to me and neither were any of my prayers answered. I was continuously questioning myself that are my prayers really being heard by this statue? It was then my cousin who converted to Christianity who told me that you don’t need to bow down to any statue because god is everywhere. He told me that Christianity teaches you that your body is the temple and that god lives in you. I really liked this teaching and it was then that my faith grew stronger in Christianity and I considered the existence of the creator.

The creation

Uncertainty.... if everything was auto, then there should be no uncertainty..... uncertainty proves a meddling hand and at the scale we encounter it, there is much reason to believe that such a hand would be great and powerful..... it is the creator who can enjoy such a position in the context of the created object.

They might not know it to begin with, but we are all created in the image of God so that it is natural for us to seek after our Creator. Further, "God has put eternity in the hearts of men" (Ecclesiastes 3:11) so that there is an awareness that just living a few years on Earth is not the sum total of everything. We are naturally troubled by the horrific fact of death, pondering if that is all there is to it. That is why the last chapter of Ecclesiastes urges young people to enjoy life, but to be aware that after physical death, "the spirit returns to God who gave it" and then we have to account to our Creator for how we lived in the flesh.

When people begin to seriously consider the existence of their Creator, it is an indication that the Holy Spirit is beginning to deal with them, to draw them to the One who brings us to God - Jesus Christ (John 14:6-11).

Fear...in particular fear of death and nothingness.

A belief in their own self importance. They cannot believe that when they die, that's it. Nothing more.
I cannot believe that supposedly intelligent people believe in God. More atrocities have been done in the name of religion then anything else.

Brainwashing. Stupidity. No research. Ignorant.

Like Abraham many people are looking for a city whose builder and maker is YHVH GOD. Abraham knew there had to be someone who made everything.

Just wait until U are on your death bed and quickly U will be saying" O God help me."

Forgiveness and love are very real, and of supernatural origin.

The most obvious answer is the beauty, complexity and order of the natural world. Those things do not come from chance and chaos- no matter how long you give it.

There is too much considerate and creative detail, too many fine-tuned specific requirements needed to justify the conclusion that it all happened by itself for no reason.

A well designed anything is evidence of a thoughtful Designer:)

Not very likely trillions of people ever lived.
No matter whether you are an atheists or a believer in God you will have to face the need for a first cause.
In any case that first cause is super natural and can not be explained in any scientific way.
That first cause of necessity has to be causeless and very powerful.

Science confirms the bible in many ways. All things are held together by gravity. Someone had to have made gravity.

Hebrews 1:3 who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

Faith, hope, love...

For me, the irrationality of existence on atheism led me to consider the existence of the Creator.
Reason and logic let me to the conclusion that God is.

It's a combination of lack of critical thinking skills and gullibility.

Mostly the questions of others. Makes me use my own reason to decide that there must be a Creator.

Intelligence, the stupidity that passes for "science" today, or the extreme blessing of our magnificient Creator showing Himself to the person as He did to me.

Fear of no life after death

the US attorney general and the donald trump organization have formed 'religious freedom laws" and the new " religious freedom police". with all of today's news stories originating in the catholic-church, when is the government going to protect us from religion?

We have remarkable grasps of the obvious. Dump 10 tons of bricks on a vacant lot and sit back and watch a house build itself.

Usually their own mortality.

When death comes knocking on your door (and it will), you put off all pretence and call out for rescue.

The moment they need help and sad because they should think about God their whole life and only those who are very special are born knowing there is more.

Let me see............what moves me to be a BELIEVER IN GOD.
The fact he created all of us...............the fact that HE CREATED ALL WE SEE IN THIS ENTIRE UNIVERSE.
GOD HAS NO LIMITS.......... once one realizes this ......wisdom comes into play. It is ALL your CHOICE.

Mainly by examining the evidence led many giants and pioneers of science to affirm their belief in the God of the Bible. In fact it was the belief in an ordered universe by the hand of a Creator that propelled them to rational scientific investigation. Several scientific giants who were firm believers in the God of the Bible were, Copernicus, Galileo, Johann Kepler, William Harvey, Sir Isaac Newton just to name a few, and if these brilliant scientists believed in the existence of a Creator, then we can depend on the foundational work of scientific giants like these scientists were.

Memory of who we are.

Freud called it an 'oceanic feeling', and what ever it is, it is often not verbalized but 'translated' or analyzed inside. I make meaning out of random or closely calculated events, actions, movements, experiences. It should not be surprising that most people develop a God-consciousness before a genuine proportion of the whole,

Try it any other way, it's a dead end. Humans and their silly OPINIONS just screw things up. Free will w/o responsibility to truth is a recipe for disaster. Jesus is the truth, the light and the way; a blueprint for life given in the Bible. Without some guide in truth and purpose, we are hopeless wanderers.

Concerning which system is the most adequate for explaining external reality, the possibility of knowledge, a relevant and binding ethic, and the significance of man, the answer should be obvious: only the worldview presupposing the truth claims of the Bible is sufficient for the task.
