Odd interaction at McDonalds?

Yesterday, I went to a McDonalds to buy some lunch.

At the counter, I was served by a young man. After he made the order, he then asked me: "Do I know you?"

I looked at him, confused, and said: "I'm sorry?"

The young man worker said: "Your face..." then gestured his hand over his face in relation to his comment.

I said: "Ehh, no" then he finished the order and I took my lunch.

This is really random but normally food service providers don't usually ask this?

Your face must have somehow looked familiar to this person, and hence his question to you. It is highly likely the intention was not to make you feel uncomfortable.

Doesn't seem like an "odd interaction" at all.
It sounds like he thought you looked like someone he knew.

he could know you seeing you elsewhere

I don't understand why you'd take this amiss. Suppose this were someone who was familiar but for whatever reason you were reluctant to be the first to say something. This gentleman took it upon to himself to be the one taking the risk of making a mistake, in order to (possibly) save YOU having to be the one to take that risk. All you have to do in this situation is respond with "I don't think so."

you might have looked very much like someone he hadn't seen in a while. This happens.
