Job application and giving notice?

I have just applied for a job and the closing date is the 24th of August and on the automatic email I received it said if you don’t hear from us within three weeks after the closing date assume you have not been successful. Problem with this is I need to give notice to my current job as soon as possible preferably before September but I can’t do this unless I know I have the new job I have applied for, is there a way to speed up the process or any good ways to explain this to the new job am applying for.

Call up the human resources on the job you are applying for. The company might have you. Her/him under 60 or 90 days to just keep the application on file. Another thing is you have to understand there are more people in the 🌎. So keep on applying i suggest.

You have quite the quandary. If you get the new job, you have to tell them you need to give your current boss notice, so they wont be short handed, and scrambling for people to cover your position at your workplace. Your perspective(future) employer should not have a problem with that, as you want to make sure you leave your current job on good terms, in case you ever need them in the future. They will respect that. Good Luck, I hope you get hired.........

my suggestion is to keep looking and not presume that that one job you applied for will hire you, especially in this economy

They have their schedule set, and nothing you can do about it. They will not start reviewing applications & selecting the top few for interviews until after 24 August. And it will take them an estimated 3 weeks after 24 August to select interviewees. So no decision is going to be made before mid-September.

What makes you think you will be one of the top applicants for the job, and even have a chance at an interview? It is entirely premature to think of quitting your current job. You need to keep applying for more positions.

There will be an interview and a while after that you will be told if you have got it.
No way can you dictate how they should reply to you and when.

You don't have the new job, even if you DO hear from them that they want to interview you. That's what they mean by being successful, not that you get the job. Do not give notice unless you actually get an offer. Closing date just means the day they stop accepting applications.

Never give notice until you have a signed letter from the new employer. If you get the job, tell the new employer you need to give two weeks notice to the old one. But if that does not work, you are allowed to quit without giving notice. It just makes you unpopular with the old boss.

A reasonable employer will allow you to give notice to your current employer.
