Can this regular exposure to loud noise cause hearing loss/ear damage?
I know this seems like a no brainer question, but I just want to be sure. I work in a grooming salon, and when we bathe dogs, we use a powerful velocity dryer to dry them off. The dryer’s pretty loud and the other groomers wear earplugs or headphones but I never have because the noise never bothered me (I assume it bothers them). I do however notice that after I turn the dryer off, my ears are ringing and I have a hard time understanding anyone who’s talking to me a for a minute or so. I know this definitely isn’t doing my ears any favors, but should I wear ear protection even if the noise doesn’t bother me, just in case?

Considering that sounds over 85 dB's over prolonged periods will lead to long-term hearing loss... It's probably better for you to wear hearing protection to minimize the risk, even if it's something that doesn't bother you... especially if you're getting temporary tinnitus.
Yes, you should be wearing hearing protection. The ringing, and minor temporary deafness, several times a day, indicate a risk for cumulative damage.
