(2)soak up v, soak something up; to take in or absorb liquid;

absorb v;something in your senses, body and mind, to take in a liquid, gas or other substances from the surface or space around.
eg:-Plants "absorb" oxygen.
(3)discriminate v, to recognize that there is a difference between people; to treat one person worse than another in an unfair way;

distinguish v, to recognize the difference between 2 people;

(2) soak up 和 absorb

而 "soak up" 更有 「大量而迅速地吸取 →(使)充滿 FULL」的意思
eg. This dry cloth SOAKS UP water well.
eg. The material can ABSORB radiation 吸收幅射 from the Earth.

(3) discriminate 和 distinguish
