如何分辨幾時用 "where" 及 "which"?

1. They went to the Ocean Park, "which" they had always wanted to visit.
本句應使用關係代名詞which，因為在形容詞子句裡which是visit的「受詞」。where只有在當「介系詞」的受詞時，才屬於代名詞性質，如：This is the place where he comes "from."（where與介系詞from連用，在此當作關係代名詞）。通常where為副詞性質，不能當受詞。

2. She swam across the England Channel, "which" was very rough at that time of the year.
這裡句只能用which關係代名詞當作形容詞子句的「主詞」。副詞性質的where不能當主詞。

3. Hong Kong, "which" was a small fishing village a hundred and fifty years ago, is now a commercial and financial centre in the Far East.
原理用上一句。只能用which（關係代名詞）當作形容詞子句的主詞。

4. Switzerland, which is in Europe, is famous for its scenery.
原理同上兩句。
