I was that girl who was considered quirky and introverted but was a helpless romantic at heart. I always wa a bit naive when it came to guys and had a habit of falling in love too quickly, Now I finally got my first boyfriend and suffering from severe first relationship jitters,
Meanwhile, my friend was a party girl who was a bit loose if you know what I mean (though I wouldn’t call her a slut). She had a share of bad relationships and failed first dates. However, she recently met the man of her dreams....who is a douche bag who can’t even communicate with her properly.
Am I the only one who thinks my life is like the most cliche love story ever?

What on earth are you talking about?
What you are relaying has nothing to do with love.
And romantic love is NOT love . .it is merely a selfish attachment to how we feel . .love that lasts has nothing to do with selfish attachments. It is these attachments that create the problems in a marriage.
This girl you speak of .. she feel for a douche bag? This is because unconsciously she doesn't like herself and expects rejection in life .. so she unconscious chose this man.
The harder we fall for someone, the more it is because we read them as supporting our unconscious attitudes.
The way to find healthy happy lasting love is to open up to and resolve our negative inner patterns. And then to slowly get to know someone and see if it works out over the first 1-2 years of dating.
There is no such thing as "the man of her dreams". No one is perfect, no one will be perfect for us, and no relationship is without problems once the infatuation phase has died out.
It is just that some relationships turn out to be toxic, and that is the fault of the person who allowed themselves to fall "in love". The only sane thing to do is to get out of a toxic relationship and then to undergo some therapy to learn the tools for healing our inner self.
