Like do people just ask or do they get the other person tested? I know it s a weird question but I worry.

Depends on how well you know the person.

If you're a teen, you should just use condoms.

Getting test is a smart thing to do. You cannot simply trust an oral statement to confirm that someone is disease free....they may not even know! So its not weird...and if someone thinks so then you probably dont want to have sex with them.

NO people can lie about any thing if they want to have sex with you.
Ask them to use condoms, if they don't want to then don't have sex with them.
If you want to get into a serious relationship with them then you should ask them to get tested for stds.

You should ALWAYS use condoms when having sex with someone you do not know. They are not 100% effective all the time at preventing infection, but they are a whole lot better than nothing.

You <<cannot>> know if they are telling the truth when asked about STDs.

It is not worth the risk.
