foretell;;--tell beforehand; predict; foretell somebody's future is to teach the past to tell the future.
prophet---a person who tells, or claims to tell ,what will happen in the future
eg:-I'm a good weather prophet from the Royal Observatory.

Prophet is also a person who teaches religion and claims that his teaching comes to him directly from God the Isaiah,Islam, the Old Testament etc.
