It would be best to transfer the current status (Chinese Passport > HKSAR Passport).
It is unknown how the relative qualifies for a 1-year extension. Nevertheless, the problem may occur when there are multiple changes. So it may be best to transfer the Tier 4 visa now and deal with the rest later.
