Steps for transplanting wild plants so they won't die and wilt and shrivel would miracle grow be good for wild plants?

If you get them from the wild, you most likely don't get enough of their root system. It really depends how much of the roots you get how successful such a transplant is. Also different plant species differ a lot how easily they can get transplanted. It generally helps to get them after a soaking rain, since roots come out easier out of a wet soil. Make also sure it's legal to collect in that area, though if you own it, it definitely will be legal.
It generally helps if you put the plant for a few days into a bucket with water, so they can recover a little before you expose them to any water stress. It's not a guarantee though.
Also don't plant it into full sun if you can and provide water daily until the plant is established.
Any fertilizer at that point is likely to be counterproductive.
If you are taking plants from the wild, you must provide the same conditions as they had in the wild. Best not to take plants from the wild.
I would not use miracle grow or any other fertilizer as it may do more harm than good. I would recommend root pruning. That is where you take a sharp shovel and push it down into the ground forming a wide circle around the plant ( use the largest diameter of plant as a guide and add an inch or two). Leave the plant alone for the next 3 or 4 days then go back and dig it up.
depends on the plant, the size of it, how much of the root system you got .. but no, generally you dont fertilize a transplant the first year unless its a very small little plant of some kind ... for say a knee-high shrub or tree you dug up and maybe nipped some of the roots off, its usually best to cut them back some, be careful to replant at close to the exact depth in relation to ground level, and really in the middle of summer when its scorching hot is a bad time to transplant, early spring is when to do it to give them a chance to take before it gets hot ..
It may help do so, not a lot lost if not. One of the things when taking things from the wild is to not do it during hot weather. Do keep it moist for a week or so. Hope this helps.
