If God answers anyone prayer, ever- and He obviously doesn’t answer all prayer, how does that synch with “God is no respecter of persons”, since He has favorite people?

I guess I’m not good at making myself clear, so I’ll be blunt. Why does God, who is said to love everyone, play favorites? Some people He blessses, and others He doesn’t.

I question everything because I was abused as a child. There is NOTHING anyone can say to convince me I was supposed to learn a lesson from it. Anyone want to try and answer now?

God is omnipotent so god is never wrong and therefore never answers anyone's prayers. If your prayer is "answered" you made a lucky guess at what god had already decided. If your prayer isn't answered you made an unlucky guess so don't blame god, you made the guess.

God is no respecter of persons but he does treat us as individuals. He will bless all those who come unto him in sincerity of heart but will not provide things that are not good for us. He often allows us to live the whole extent of our experience in order to maximize our growth. It is up to us to trust in God's actions and timing. Faith in God means trust in God.

God is an intelligence being. He knows more than we do. Therefore he has the intelligence to know when to answer a prayer with a "yes" and when to answer it with a "no". That is not "respecting a person". That is using intelligence about what you do.

Apostle Peter recognized that God is not partial, but in every nation the man that fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him.

The determining factor, then, is the heart of the individual and what his heart is moving him to do.

Those who observe God’s commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his eyes have the assurance that his ears are also open to them.

Conversely, those who disregard God’s Word and law, shedding blood and practicing other wickedness, do not receive a favorable hearing from God; their prayers are detestable to him.

The individual must have faith in God, recognition of one’s own sinful state is essential.

One’s nationality, the color of one’s skin, or one’s economic circumstances have no bearing on the matter.

But the motivations of one’s heart and one’s way of life do.

Put it this way, you have two children, one of them, who is always well behaved, asks "father, could I have a new bike please"? The other who isn't so well behaved says, "I want a new bike"? Which do you favour?

God may have exclusive love for certain people more than others but He doesn't favor for prayers or sustenance. He hears all prayers, He is always listening. Sometimes He refuses or doesn't grant for good reasons, according to His and time but doesn't mean He won't grant or give.

It rains on the just and the unjust. So some things are just the nature of the world we live in. God sometimes allows people to circumvent the randomness of the world, but only for a few select reasons. The intentions of the applicant must be unselfish. As far as God is concerned, we could be in the darkest, coldest dungeon, and it would be for our good and give us experience.

God does answer everyone's prayers, but he doesn't give a person what they want, but what they need. What a person needs doesn't always overlap with what they want and sometimes is very painful, but God does this to benefit his followers.
