Do I have the flu or is it allergies?
I'm going to just list out my symptoms, and hope that it is distinguishable illness. It was not progressive at all. It built up all in a few hours, though I have noticed it's gotten a little bit worse over the week. I have a very dry cough and a sore throat. I only have a stuffy nose in the morning, though it really gets in the way. I don't know if this next one is a personal issue or part of a sickness; I have sore joints and physical pain around my body. It never happened before I was sick, so this leads me to believe that it is a symptom. When I stretch, my joints crack up. I also have major headaches that bother me from working, which also might be a different problem. When I cough a lot, I feel like throwing up. I get a lot of chills and I sweat even when it is cold. I haven't checked my fever, as I don't have a thermometer.

That sounds more like the flu. The body aches, joint problems, chills/sweats. But the only way you'll know is by taking your temperature. If you have the flu you'll have a temperature.
(Well we say 'have a temperature'. But everyone has a temperature! I mean you'll have a HIGH temperature.)
Don't you have a neighbor or roommate or something you can borrow a thermometer from? You know if you go to the ER that's the first thing they're going to do!
By the way (gratuitous irrelevant joke) do you know the difference between an oral and anal thermometer? It's the taste!
only a doctor can tell you what you have, go see one
