Can I use a charcoal mask if I have a dry skin?

I bought a charcoal mask last week (it says for sensitive skin types) but I released today that it might do more harm than good because I have a pretty dry skin. Is this the case or is it ok to use a charcoal mask if you have a dry skin?

Charcoal absorbs water, so it will dry out your skin and could cause a rash.
