What condition would you be in with type 1 diabetes after 2 years with no insulin. This is a 50 year old female.?

I have a friend who says she’s diabetic since she was young. She also says she hasn’t been able to afford insulin in 2 years. I don’t want to see her suffer, but I also tend to not believe her.

I don’t have access to her medical records. She’s a friend, and I’m tryin to make sense of things she tells me.

Related question. She has to either be lying about having type one (juvenile) diabetes, or she’s lying about not having access to insulin. How do I handle this when I see her?

"Anyone who has type 1 diabetes needs lifelong insulin therapy." So my guess is in two years the person would be dead

Dead.

Probably dead without the insulin. I am type 2 diabetic and if I didn't watch my diet and take meds every day it would affect my internal organ within 2 years and I am 61 years old.

Most likely dead or dying.

A type 1 diabetic can not live without insulin.

More often than not, the lack of insulin, if the person really was diabetic, it would mean that the person died some 8 months earlier for her body starving from not having the key to unlock the cells for carbohydrates to get through.
That only way other than that is that they did take insulin in when they ate carbohydrates. For me, high blood sugars mean high amounts of pain.
