No one fears homosexuals.
Wait until Martin signs on for the correct answer. He's an expert on that subject.
For starters I would like to say that saying something is wrong or a sin does not mean you are scared of it. Homosexuality is wrong and unnatural
WE DO NOT FEAR homosexuals so u r so confused...wake up to reality..
There are atheists who do not approve of homosexuallity.
Probably best to ask that the other way round.
Homophobia is a word coined by those who follow the new fascist religion of homosexuality, in order to disparage those who do not follow their cult.
no, but homophobia, is a righteous reaction to Gay people that unrighteously in ones face.
<-- Catholic
Be careful how you use that word "homophobe" -- It has really become over used and generalized. MOST people use it as a general label to describe ANYONE (for any reason) who doesn't agree with their beliefs or opinions regarding the LGBTQ+ community.
for example: If one disagrees with a court ruling or questions if a certain court case is a legitimate example of 'discrimination' -- that person is often times labeled as a 'homophobe' -- without the people claiming this knowing anything about the person's actual fears, biases, or beliefs.
All they know is that this person is questioning an issue related to LGBTQ+ social status and that's enough to get labeled.
Some people go even further -- labeling ALL religious people, all like 4 billion+ religious people as 'homophobes'
OR
Many label anyone who is part of a certain religious group as being 'homophobic' - such as all 1.2 billion Catholics in the world -- even without knowing anything about those individual's personal beliefs, fears, or biases.
So like "No Chance Without Jesus" said -- It is often used disingenuously to dismiss one's opponents viewpoint. Because let's face it -- We shouldn't listen to bigots and homophobes -- RIGHT?
So if we can label someone that -- then we don't have to really consider what they are saying. We can simply say: "Talk to the hand you, Homophobe!"
_______________
In general -- I would say we are better off pinning phobias (a psychological condition) on individuals and NOT entire groups of people.
AGREED?
I suspect the vast majority of those who fear homosexuals are in fact religions. There is no other justification for the bigotry and vitriol spewed against gays apart from religious dogma. Religion remains the best way to get otherwise good people to say and do horrible things to those who are different from them.
No, there are plenty of non-religious people that acknowledge homosexuality for the obvious sociological - physiological aberration that it is.
I've known people who just thought homosexuality was 'gross' (most of whom seemed to be repressing their own homosexual urges).
Most are, but not every homophobic person is religious.
Most people who are against homosexuals are in the medical field because it is a very dangerous life style.
While the Bible disapproves of homosexual acts, it does not condone hatred of homosexuals or homophobia. Instead, Christians are directed to “respect everyone.” 1 Peter 2:17
Even though they do not condone homosexual relations, true Christians show kindness to all people. Matthew 7:12
Therefore, genuine Christians are not homophobic.
No one is afraid of homosexuals, unless we see kids being raised by them.
I've never heard a reason to be homophobic that wasn't based in religion.
Without religion the worst you can say is that you aren't personally interested in homosexual activity.
Why Are you a NAZI left wing liberal..just because you don't like there point of view.
No. I saw very non religious men beat up a homosexual. I was far away. I heard 5 homophobs, very non religious, killed à SUSPECTED homosexual. Sick.
This made me laugh the other day, someone said they didn't like gay men as it was a dangerous way to have sex, nothing should go up there. But he would have sex that way with his girlfriend. What??
I've met people who are not religious and dislike gays and religious people that don't.
That's a good question. It may not be 100% of them but it's probably in the high 90s.
