If a girl has her earbuds in should you still try talking to her?

I always feel like it's a sign she doesn't want to talk to me or something. I'll feel like an asshole if I cause someone to stop their music to talk to me...

Say hi and if she removes her earbuds then she wants talk if doesn't she doesn't want to!
Other people answering: when no one is around the girl to talk to then she will listen to the music..if someone comes and tries to talk to the girl she will show her response! But just because she has earbuds on she doesn't want to talk is wrong assumption.

If you are already good friends with her, then she probably wouldn't mind, depending on the situation - if you're supposed to be meeting her somewhere, sure, but if she's studying, leave her alone.
If you don't know her at all, absolutely do not bother someone with earbuds. I think that's pretty much understood to mean, "I don't want to be bothered by anyone."
If you know her, but not that well, maybe just wave "hi" and see if she takes them out. If she doesn't, then move on. If she does, then chat.
