關於英文sit後面接動詞的問題。?

"participle" (grammar) is a verbal adjective qualifying noun, but retaining some properties of a verb
Adjective as a present participle is a "participial" adjective,eg:-Ving--chatting in "round the fire chatting";
Rearranging the sentence, we have:-
"Round the fire chatting" sat the old men--a "participial" adj phrase qualifying "the old men" ;
The verb=sat;pt of main verb sit ; thus avoiding two verbs in a sentence:-
Hence:-The old men sat round the fire chatting.

這隻問題應該是簡單的
節購上是 主詞 不及物動詞 主詞補語
也就是chatting是一隻主詞補語 被用來補足 主詞

反過來說 妳這裡不用 現在分詞的話 那妳認為應該要用神啊？
