Only to a very limited extent.

A name that causes the child embarrassment or awkwardness or inconvenience could potentially damage that child psychologically.

Not all children would be affected by a bad name, but if the child has any other awkwardnesses or difficulties or problems, then a bad name will make matters worse for them

If the child has to carry the burden of a name they hate some may be changed by it. Maybe not a happy confident clever extrovert; they could probably cope with any name; but an awkward, unhappy, shy, low ability introvert child could find a bad name one burden too much.

I do believe that. Much happens in our subconscious that we are not aware of.

only if it is such an unusual name that they spend a lifetime defending/explaining/spelling it or such an OVERLY common name that they have 10 of the same name in a class of 20. In either of those cases the actions required by the name may cause them to develop a tendency to be more forceful or more forgiving of mistakes than they might have been otherwise.
