Is "Strawberry Fields Forever" about committing suicide?

In the song he says "Let me take you down because I m going to Strawberry Fields (Heaven because he wants to kill himself) were nothing is real and nothing to get hung about( no problems at all). Strawberry Fields Forever.( it s the best)" "Living this easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all I see. (emphasis of my life)" Obviously it s about suicide right?

No, Strawberry Field is a nostalgia song about a touristy fun place in the Beatles' childhood city of LIverpool. It's an actual place having nothing to do with sadness or suicide.

No, its just another esoteric, LSD inspired bit of John Lennon wordplay about not having a care in the world. The name was inspired by "Strawberry Field" an old Salvation Army orphanage that was near John's childhood home in the Woolton village of Liverpool. He and his friends used to sneak into the yard and play amongst the overgrown vegetation.

I don't think so at all. I used to think it was about doing drugs but based on this, it may just be about the relaxing feeling of childhood places that were enjoyed.

Strawberry Field was the name of a Salvation Army children's home close to John Lennon's childhood home in Woolton, a suburb of Liverpool.[8][9] Lennon and his friends Pete Shotton, Nigel Walley and Ivan Vaughan used to play in the wooded garden behind the home.[10][11] One of Lennon's childhood treats was the garden party held each summer in Calderstones Park, near the home, where a Salvation Army brass band played.[12] Lennon's aunt Mimi Smith recalled: "There was something about the place that always fascinated John. He could see it from his window … He used to hear the Salvation Army band [playing at the garden party], and he would pull me along, saying, 'Hurry up, Mimi – we're going to be late.'"[11]

Strawberry Field is the name of a mansion on the outskirts of Liverpool which used to be a children's home run by the Salvation Army. Probably through a misunderstanding, the local kids used to call the extensive grounds "Strawberry Fields". For kids who would otherwise have to play in the street, the idea of climbing over the wall to play there was a luxury. Don't try to make sense of Beatles lyrics from the second half of the 1960s - they were out at the time.

No Sophie. Lennon was not suicidal or gay or bipolar

John Lennon use to play in a field of strawberries when he was a child. That's the basis of the song.

Lyrics are meant to be pondered about... Well... Most of them. There is a line between creative thinking and insanity and it is thin. I don't think your interpretation is insane, so believe what you will. There is a song by the Black keys called "unknown brother", I always thought it was about a miscarriage, but it was really about the singer's ex wife's brother. When I discovered this, I still liked the song, but it honestly meant less to me. What you think a piece of art is about, is truly what it is about. Don't let others do your interpretations, even if they are correct.

more likely about drugs and escapism (i don't care what the wikipedia says about john lennon's childhood, i still think its about drugs.)
