What are the best plants to grow in and down a wall?

I’m currnelty placing some gaibon baskets alone side the river I live next to, to stop erosion of the river bank. I was wondering what would be some nice plants to grow down the baskets as there will be a layer of soil above them (or even in them I can place some soil inside the baskets for plants to be placed in them. I would preferably like plants that are have leaves on them all year so that the baskets aren’t visible, it would also be nice if they flowered. Thank you if you leave an answer.
