No, because Lycanthropy isn't real.
"Lycanthropy" isn't a particularly common word, so yeah, it's completely plausible.

Lycanthropy is most commonly associated with werewolves, but it's just the ability for a human (or humanoid) to transform into any practically any animal. Wererats & Werebears are lesser known animal variants here... Any other were-creatures are too uncommon to be publicly known.
Lycanthropy is in a world of myths.
Myths basically are “convincing lies”.
And that’s all Lycanthropy is, a lie told in folktales, probably to scare little kids.
