I need help with this math problem?
A rectangle is drawn on a coordinate grid. The equation for 1 side of the rectangle is 3x-2y=12. Which could be an equation for another side of the rectangle?
A. y=3/2x+5
B. y=3x-12
C. y=-3/2x-12
D. y=2x-5
I have no idea where to start.

3x - 2y = 12
The slope is 3/2
The slope of other sides is either 3/2 or -2/3 (parallel and/or perpendicular)
A. y = (3/2)x + 5
There are two possibilities: The side is parallel to this one, or it's perpendicular.
Let's find out the slope of this line by putting it in slope-intercept form.
3x - 2y = 12
-2y = -3x + 12
2y = 3x - 12
y = (3/2)x - 6
A parallel line will have the same slope, of 3/2. Do any of those lines have a slope (coefficient of x) of 3/2?
A perpendicular line will have the negative reciprocal slope, or -2/3. Do any of those lines have a slope of -2/3?
To answer that question, look at the coefficients of x and see if any of them are 3/2 or -2/3.
you likely desire A) as it is the only one which has same slope
