I live on the water. I researched and researched wood decking options until I was convinced I found the best wood for humid locations. Tigerwood and Ipe were my final runner ups. I chose Tigerwood due to it's natural colors and features of being naturally insect and rot resistant, closed grain, and the beautiful colors. It is on the pricy side, but it will the first and last time you lay that flooring. The Tigerwood comes in several different options as far as thicknesses, choice of widths, and whether you want tongue and groove or not. I bought mine from AdvantageLumber.com.
I recently sold that house and will duplicate that deck at my current residence.
