The answer depends on whether you want to spend some money or not.
FREE:
1. You can sign up for free cloud base storage. The free sites don't offer much in the way of storage space, but coming from XP you may not have a large hard drive anyway thus not many files stored. So these might work for you. There are literally 1000s of such sites on the market so you won't have a hard time finding one when you do an internet search called "free cloud base storage sites" to get a list.
2. Microsoft provides One Drive cloud storage. Their free one is 5GB. Again, as above, if you don't have many files stored due to a small hard drive, this is a perfect option for you. Here is the link. On the far right is the free one to click:

3. If you currently own some blank CDs or a thumb drive or an external hard drive, either of these is ideal for accomplishing the transfer
PURCHASE:
1. If you don't have any blank CDs, thumbdrive or external hard drive, either of these can be bought cheaply. I prefer the external hard drive, but that's just me.
2. Transfer cable. They are not very expensive. Here is an example:
