Is it safe to use two power supplies on a LT3+?

I just recently got a LT3+, and would like to do some mining with it. Unfortunately for me though it seems that the power supply I got, the Max Tytan (1250 watts), has only eight PCI-E cables. While this is enough to power the eight hashing boards I still need one more PCI-E cable for the main control board. As a result of this I was wondering if it would be a good idea to buy a cheap 750 watt power supply, and use that to power the main board, while the Max Tytan is used to power the other four hashing boards.

8x 6-pin connectors is all you need for the L3+. From there it connects to your network and all you would have to get into your router's settings in order to set up your Asic machine. IIRC, you will have to mine on Antpool..... so in a way you are undercutting all of those GPU miners, which is a power grab by Bitman.

You're really suppose to treat this as a separate unit, so you really should look into getting a 2nd power supply.

Cut up some cables from an old or broken PSU and solder it to your power supply.
