g(x) = x^2 + 2x - 8
you want to find the solution for when f(x) = g(x)
f(x) = g(x)
7 = x^2 + 2x - 8
0 = x^2 + 2x - 8 - 7
x^2 + 2x - 15 = 0
(x+5)(x-3) = 0
(x+5) = 0 and (x-3) = 0
x+5 = 0 and x-3 = 0
x = -5 and x = 3
g(x) = x^2 + 2x - 8
you want to find the solution for when f(x) = g(x)

7 = x^2 + 2x - 8
0 = x^2 + 2x - 8 - 7
x^2 + 2x - 15 = 0
