Determine if each of the following forms an unsaturated or saturated solution at 20c?
A) adding 36g of KNO3 to 200.g of h2o
B adding 19g Of KNO3 to 50.g of h2o
C adding 68g of KNO3 to 150.g of h2o

A)
36 g / 200 g H₂O = (36 g / 200 g H₂O) × (0.5/0.5) = 18 g / 100 g H₂O < solubility
The solution is unsaturated.
B)
19 g / 50 g H₂O = (19 g / 50 g H₂O) × (2/2) = 38 g / 100 g H₂O > solubility
The solution is saturated.
C)
68 g / 150 g H₂O = (68 g / 150 g H₂O) × [(2/3)/(2/3)) = 45 g / 100 g H₂O > solubility
The solution is saturated.
you will have to look up the solubility of KNO3 at 20 C, this will probably by g/100g water then just look at the ratios
