Like the dude who wrote those orange vocab books from when you were little? I tried googling him is he even real like what? All I see is the fact that he is an author, no website or photo

It isn't unusual for authors to deliberately seek privacy, with no website, no author photo, no online presence.

Most authors, particularly those who published BI (before Internet) and particularly those who wrote textbooks, are not especially famous. I'm not surprised that there's not much information about this person online. I also wouldn't be surprised to learn that "his" books were written by a committee, except that Goodreads lists some books written by him and another author.
