I've been given the question below:
Thorium-230 is one of a number of relatively large, unstable isotopes formed during the decay of naturally occurring uranium. A small part of the decay process is summarised below:
protactinium-234 -> [uranium isotope] -> thorium-230
Give nuclear equations to describe the two steps in this sequence, including symbols, mass and atomic numbers of all nuclides. Identify the type and number of any particles emitted. Where appropriate, indicate the type of radioactive decay that is occurring.
I just don't know what to do here. Anyone got any hints or answers?
