Salaam. Are there angels (malaa'ikah) among us?

Yes they are, they can take 0n the form of humans too.

What I read from the Noble Quran is there are at least 4 angels with every single human. There is the angel who records our good deeds on the right side of us, and the Angel who records our sins on the left side of us, there are two angels that protect us, one in front and one behind us. The Prophet Muhammad (sallahallahu alaihi wasalam) had 4 angels protecting him, so he had 6 angels around him.

And every human being has one shaytan appointed to them to whisper temptation into their hearts. So every human has at least 4 angels and one shaytan around them. If one recites ayatul kursi while laying down before sleep, Allah aza wa jal sends another angel as a guardian to protect you over the night from shaytans whisperings.


On the battlefield, the angels assist the Mujahideen by the thousands as mentioned in Quran, they are not seen but the miraculous things happening on the battlefield can be seen, such as a Muslim man in Afghanistan who was run over by a tank, got up and survived, or guns taking down jets and helicopters. There is a narration regarding one of the caliphs during the time the Muslims were assaulting a fortress from among the kufar, and they were finding it very difficult with regards to one kafir who was on top of the fortress shooting arrows and not missing his targets, so the caliph was called for help and he came, asked for an arrow and a bow, and he shot an arrow after reciting Bismillah if I recall, then the arrow left and it was going to hit the fotress wall, then it went up all of a sudden and hit the kafir on top of the fortress killing him.

So you can see the angels assist in many ways on the battlefield. Hence why just a few tribal Muslim groups in Afghanistan were able to humiliate and defeat the UN, America, Europe, Australia, and various other armies from various countries as well as the Afghan Army.
