Determine the value of Kc at 1000˚C for the equilibrium below:

C(s) + 2H2(g) ↔ CH4(g) Kp = 0.262 at 1000˚C

a) 2.18 x 103
b) 2.86 x 103
c) 2.40 x 10-5
d) 2.51 x 10-3

C(s) + 2H₂(g) ⇌ CH₄(g)
For the above heterogeneous equilibrium, C(s) is not shown in the equilibrium law.

Kc
= [CH₄] / [H₂]²
= {P(CH₄)/RT} / {P(H₂)/RT}²
= {P(CH₄) / P(H₂)²} × (1/RT)²
= Kp / (RT)²
= 0.262 / (0.08206 × 1273)²
= 2.40 × 10⁻⁵

The answer: c) 2.40 × 10⁻⁵

d) 2.51 x 10^-3

This is too hard for me.
