Why does my car stall when driving it?

So when I drive my car sometimes the engine stalls when I accelerate. Now it doesn't happen often But it still worries me if i I take it on the highway which I don't do as often either.Do you think my car needs new spark plugs or tune up. I have a 2003 Hyundai Elentra. Also what would happen if I keep driving it like that?

There are so many senors that can cause stalling that you need to have a mechanic with a $2000 scan tool read the engine data to see if all the sensors are working with in spec.

I could guess a dozen things that might be wrong, but narrow it down to one or two with an OBD2 code reader. Have the trouble codes pulled at a parts store for free. Maybe a loose connector to the engine management computer. Snug up every plug you see under the hood and pray.

dirty fuel filter is most likely

Take it to a mechanic with a scan tool so he can check codes and freeze frame data. The car might have a failing crank or cam sensor or there is an issue with the fuel delivery system.
