What does the Bible mean when it says that we will receive a new heart?

A NEW WAY OF LOOKING AT SITUATIONS...knowing the outcome of dying takes away a lot of worry...knowing that death will soon be eliminated...this is not dying and going to heaven, but is never dying and continuing to live in the flesh on the earth...all Jehovah asks is to be obedient.
(1 Corinthians 15:54, 55) But when this which is corruptible puts on incorruption and this which is mortal puts on immortality, then the saying that is written will take place: “Death is swallowed up forever.” 55 “Death, where is your victory? Death, where is your sting?”
Heaven is already full of angels, so why would Jehovah want all the rest of us there...
There is some space allowed for a few...(Revelation 14:1) Then I saw, and look! the Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who have his name and the name of his Father written on their foreheads.
A very specific number...as compared to...(Revelation 20:12, 13) And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and scrolls were opened. But another scroll was opened; it is the scroll of life. The dead were judged out of those things written in the scrolls according to their deeds. 13 And the sea gave up the dead in it, and death and the Grave gave up the dead in them, and they were judged individually according to their deeds.
All the ones resurrected back to life on the earth.

This means two things that means when you set your mind fully upon Jehovah God your heart your thinking process will become in line with his word and everything about you will change after that it becomes quite literal you die you go into the ground and when you get resurrected you literally receive a brand new heart a brand new mind and a brand new body but this begins in this world with the renewing of your mind by reading and studying the holy scriptures

think about it..............it's not a literal description.....the Bible is a mixture of literal and figurative

It is talking about a person making changes such as their thinking, motivation, and aim in life produce a new frame of mind, disposition, and moral force. For the one whose life course changes, the result is a new personality which was created according to God's will in true righteousness and loyalty free from immorality, covetousness, as well as violent speech and conduct.

It means you will be a kinder, gentler person after all is said and done.

From a spiritual perspective, we don't take scripture necessarily literally. Lots examples of how taking scripture literally leads to contradicts and makes no sense.
We know we are spiritual and material. I would say this is about getting rid of our material attachments and turning fully to God.

It's a metaphor for a person's emotions.

New heart, new creature, new heaven and a new earth are all because we are new after the death burial and resurrection through baptism (full immersion in water).

A person can know many truths by having true devotion to the Immaculate Heart of the Virgin Mary.

They start being compassionate.
