a) What is the potential difference between the terminals of an ordinary AA or AAA battery? (If you’re not sure, find one and look at the label.)
b) An AA battery is connected to a parallel-plate capacitor having 6.00-cm-diameter plates spaced 4 mm apart. How much charge does the battery move from one plate to the other?
回答 (1)
1.56 volts, unloaded
b) assuming this is in air or vacuum
area = πr² = π0.03² = 0.00283 m²
C = (8.854e-12)(0.00283) / (0.004) = 6.26e-12 or 6.26 pF
Q = CV = 6.26 pF x 1.56 volts = 9.77 pC
Parallel plate cap
C = ε₀εᵣ(A/d) in Farads
ε₀ is vacuum permittivity, 8.854e-12 F/m
εᵣ is dielectric constant or relative permittivity
of the material (vacuum = 1)
A and d are area of plate in m² and separation in m
