Is what my period is doing normal? What should I do?

I'm 15 and I have suffered from late/missed periods for about 3/4 years. Every single month I receive all period symptoms eg. period pains/cramps, sore breasts and feeling very upset but sometimes my period never actually turns up. When it does it is extremely heavy and doesn't last very long (3/4 days). About 2 weeks ago I took the morning after pill. I didn't actually have sex but was involved in unprotected sexual activity. I took the pill to be safe as neither of us are sure whether he came or not (came near/or on my vagina). I don't believe I am pregnant but my period still hasn't turned up and I was meant to be on at least a week ago. I'm worried about my missed periods and I don't know what to do. Is this normal?

For a 15 year old, it isn't necessarily abnormal. However - you are at the age that you should start seeing a gynecologist anyhow - especially since you are exploring sex.

About that - you seem to know very little about sex - taking a morning after pill because of ejaculation near your vagina is a bit over the top. I'd suggest asking your mom to get you to a gyno (you don't have to mention sex) and for you to spend some time on the internet catching up on sexual information. Here are some great sites for teens...

Normal at your age and with what you did.

Yes, it's normal. Your period is going to be irregular for a while.
Plan B can and will cause your hormones to fluctuate so that's normal as well.
I know you probably don't want to hear this but you're too young to be involved in sexual activity of this magnitude. Sure, a *little* touching and kissing is ok, but having to worry about getting pregnant? Not so much.

You did not need to take an emergency contraceptive. You only need to take one if he ejaculated inside of you, not on or near you.
Its normal to have a weird period at your age. What is not normal is that you don't know how pregnancy works. You cannot get pregnant unless a penis goes inside your vagina and he ejaculates inside you. That did not happen, so you cannot be pregnant.
I would recommend that you go to your doctor to learn more about this, and stop being physical with anybody until you know how your own body works.
