What is a good degree to have in 2018?

It depends on what you want to do. A degree in physics, no matter how much a job in physics might pay, is not much good if you want to teach music. A degree in computer science is not much good if you are Amish.

Do you really NEED a college degree? Many job markets are flooded with college graduates who can't find work in their degree field, so are forced to take low paying, low skill jobs just to pay the bills (OR they go live in mommy's basement for the next 10-15 years.) There is a HUGE demand in this country for skilled workers in many trades where you can earn a really good living if you're willing to get your hands dirty. Carpenters, electricians, plumbers, auto mechanics, etc... $20-$35 per hour pounding nails into a board is a hell of a lot better than minimum wage flipping burgers!

Computer Science is good unless you're going into it just for the money.
