I am 13 years old and will be turning 14 in early march. I am very good at flexibly. I can do a simple backband, handstands, and splits. I have done gymnastics when i was 6 and 9-11. I am a little over weight according to doctors, but I look averge and it doesn't stop me from doing simple gymnastics. I am fasinated with contortioning and I have been practicing it for about 2 weeks but beofre i get my hopes up I wanted to know if it was too late?

Hey Joslyn, It is never too late. keep working towards your dreams, break down what you need to do into little chunks.
so for example if you need to do strength training, slowly hit those strength goals, like 20 pushups, or 40 squats and so on.
If you have problems with one of the splits work on getting it down, and keep building your self up until you have checked everything off the list.
While you train you could join a club, or practice with like minded friends.

Just know contortion requires a certain genetic component. Many professional contortionists actually have a genetic condition that makes their skin and joints are very flexible.

I wish you all the best, and to add, I am very happy to hear you have body confidence, never let anyone make you feel bad about your self. Never compare yourself to others, because that is how you let the demons in.
Do ensure you are eating a healthy diet, lots of plants foods will lower inflammation in the body allowing you to train harder, and recover quicker.

deffo check out forums, or youtube, I am sure there are professional or training gymnasts that could help you in more detail, this is not my usual area. maybe when you get more confident you could help other people, and do tutorials. this will give you an extra layer of motivation, and who knows get you noticed.

I am 50+ and can do things most 20 somethings can't. Keep practicing as it's never too late.

You would be better off asking a trainer or coach, since every person is different.
