Like why they brutally chop people. I know there is a war between drug dealers and the governement. Why sell drugs though?
I know its good money,
Is it poverty?
Can't they sell food, clothes and do manual labour instead of vatos locos culture?

The Cartels sell drugs and the money turns the military police into crooks, they have killed an Archbishop and clean police officers and so many people men and women and young girls its a epidemic. Then need what Reagan did in Columbia but the government refuses US help that way.

Mexico is a third world country run by a kleptocracy. That means almost everyone in the government is taking bribes or has their fingers in some kind of criminal activity. The rule of law is patchy at best. The population cannot prosper because when the people see the leaders cheat, they cheat. Everyone believes that a person who follows the law is just being stupid.

They do sell food in the U.S., but food is perishable and expensive to transport, so growing it in Mexico to sell in the eastern U.S. doesn't really work, so the only effective way to grow food to sell in the U.S. is to come to the U.S. to grow it.

They can't sell food, clothes, etc., in Mexico, because there isn't enough money to buy those things. Drugs can be sold in the U.S. The U.S. gets clothes from the far east (Asia, Indonesia, etc.) and Guatemala. Food for U.S. citizens is grown in the U.S., although most of the work is done by foreign workers.
