Why has my grey tree frog turned a blueish tint?

I noticed today his skin has turned bluish around the legs and half of his body. The head is still his normal grey color. The blue color doesn’t feel that much different in texture from the grey color. I can’t tell if he is bloated or not but he still seems active. What does this mean for my frog? Is he shedding or is he sick? My mom said he looks slightly bigger in size but she doesn’t believe it’s bloating.

I am not a frog expert. I did find this:

"Below the snake’s (frog’s too) epidermis, the outer layer of skin, there are three layers of cells called chromatophores. The bottom layer consists of cells which produce melanin which appear black or brown. The middle layer contains cells which are crystalline, gray in color but which appear blue when reflected back through the skin (this reflective layer is responsible for the iridescence in snakes and frogs). The top layer produces yellow pigment. When the animal dies, yellow pigment is no longer produced, only the blue is reflected back (yellow and blue make green)."

Sounds like he may be sick? I would take him to the vet and find out. It's possible it could be normal and he's just changing color to his surroundings or because of mood or something too.

You should really study up and find and know everything you can about any animal you consider getting as a pet. If you don't you're most likely going to end up killing it.

maybe you should take it to the vet and have them look at it
