Discount whole transaction vs. discounting individual items? Same amount or different amoung? Give examples to me please?

that will depend on what the company will consider for discounts
maybe only certain items can be discounted thus only those items will be
but if a general discount is offered, when the bill is tallied, the discount is applied to that amount which will or can include several items

and the end of the day what you pay is what you pay - the buyer dont care if its 10%/item or 10% on the transaction - their bill is the same

Nothing to do with the amount or the amoung. The whole transaction is all the items. Individual items are, well ... individual items.
