That's like saying a limo is terrible because it can't haul a trailer. Mac computers aren't made for gaming. They're made for media creation and have a simplified OS for those who don't want options.
If you turned down the graphics settings you'll probably get better FPS, but Mac computers generally have poor graphics cards and aren't able to do a lot on the 3D graphics rendering department.
Don't feed the troll, kids.
Mac is complete sh*t for gaming in my opinion , I highly reccomend pc computers. Mac is great for video editing and other production though.
"best computer money can buy"? I think you misunderstood him. They are the least computer you can buy for the most money!
Anything produced from Apple is completely overpriced until recent pricing that is slightly better. For the same price, you can find a great pc that will render at least like 3 times more frame. I don't know if you are trolling with the question but if is real, tell your dad to stop buying bad pc.
That's like saying that you tried xbox 360 halo2 cd on your ps4 and it didn't work.
Need a cookie?
Go get a job and buy yourself the best windows computer you can and game on that. Problem solved.
Your dad is speaking only from his own experience and requirement; the truth is that Macs were well made and designed but very much not the best computer on the market. It never was, never is, and never will be, that being said, 51 isn't low by most counts, what Big Deal are you trying to figure out?
Most consumer Macs use an integrated graphics chip (IGPU) instead of a dedicated graphics card (GPU). An IGPU is fine if the most intensive task you'll use it for is streaming HD video, but for gaming no IGPU available right now will even be usable for all games. The newest COD game requires a minimum of a GTX 1050 GPU, which is more than twice as powerful as even the best currently available IGPU (Intel Iris Pro 580).
Also, all games use software called APIs. These provide the structure the developers use to make sure the game can correctly interact with the available hardware. Nearly all games support some version of the DirectX API, some support OpenGL, and a few also support Vulkan. DirectX is a part of Windows, and if a game doesn't have OpenGL or Vulkan support it can only be played on Windows because of that. Not to mention you won't have to spend a small fortune to get a Windows PC with a good dedicated GPU.
