Yes, it is grammatically correct.

For example, some people may be fighting while driving in a car. In this case, you may say...

They are super mad in the car.

Or

I lent my Bentley to them but ... They turned super mad in it.

They were very mad (about/at/ with/ ) it.Not in.
They were going mad at it-------become wildly excited, anger, upset etc.at it.
