How do I buy websites that are defunct but not yet expired?

I have a taxi company. Two local companies have gone out of business and their websites say "This site can’t be reached". I want to get those sites and redirect them to mine but I don't know what to do. I "backordered" them on eNomCentral but they're not expiring for a while I guess.

Do a " WhoIs" search to see who owns them, and offer to buy the registration from them. If you do a search for "WhoIs" you will find a number of tools for this. For example, https://www.whois.com/whois
