What does this mean (Mandarin)?

入: basic meaning is “enter”, opposite meaning is “exit”, and it is a word seldom used by itself, for examples, entrances of a theater, we normally say “入口” and exits of a theater, we normally say “出口”.
When used as a verb, another word(s) is also needed to help form a term, for example 進入 means go into, 出去 means leave the place.
