A motorist drives north for 33.0 minutes at 60.5 km/h and then stops for 15.0 minutes. He then continues north, traveling 130 km in 1.80 h.
(a) What is his total displacement?

Total displacement
= (60.5 km/h) × (33.0/60 h) + (130 km)
= 163.275 km
≈ 163 km (to 3 sig. fig.)

Time taken
= [(33.0 + 15.0) min]/(60 min/h) + (1.80 h)
= 2.6 h

Average velocity
= (163.275 km) / (2.6 h)
= 62.8 km/h (to 3 sig. fig.)
